I will be slowly transferring my previous blogs to the new site! I will also begin blogging much more often! Here come the funny stories because this kid of mine is a character!

Breastfeeding is going great now that my milk has come in. Ryleigh lost almost a pound before that actually happened, so her doctor wanted me to begin supplementing. UGH! I felt so disappointed in myself. I had NO plans whatsoever to use formula. FAIL!
Today was a great day! Went to the OB office for my 2 week post checkup and the first thing they do is weigh you. I was not excited about it. I spent the past 2 weeks avoiding the scale so that it wouldn’t even be on my mind. I thought I was going to have to pull a Kim K and go into hiding until the weight was off.
….BUT to my surprise, I was only 7 lbs above my Pre-pregnancy weight. YES! Summer is starting to look a little brighter. I just may make it back into my bikini by the end of summer! AND to top it off, I was given the ok to resume LIGHT workouts! Oh HAPPY DAY! Going for a run when I get home!
Advice I got the most? Sleep when baby sleeps!
From the beginning, I agreed with this advice. I mean, this WAS coming from experienced mothers. It was my plan to make sure that I slept when Ryleigh was sleeping. I succeeded for the first week then I realized….when is the last time I ate or showered? I was eating like once a day and that meal wasn’t until dinner time. Once reality hit, I realized that this advice was easier said than done. When Ryleigh sleeps, all I can think about is Laundry, Shower, Eat, Clean, and Law and Order:SVU. Oh, and have I brushed my teeth today?!? Lol. Maybe I was going about it all wrong but I just was not having the time to do anything.
After about a week, I started to get a pattern going. It wasn’t exactly the advice I was given but it works. It truly is different for each person. My To-Do list isn’t complete but at least I’m making headway.
When people ask how my delivery went, I tell them it was FUN. I’m sure many people think I’m crazy after they hear that but it’s the truth. My entire labor was 22 hours. Looking back, it seemed like only a few. I labored for the first 8 hours at home. I honestly thought it was false labor and did not want to be sent home. After all of the horror stories that were shared with me, I was waiting on excruciating labor pains. They never came. Don’t listen to the horror stories.
Your L&D is what you make it. It was actually a fun experience. I made two playlists to have at the hospital. Make playlists!! 1) Labor Music (relaxing, slow music) and 2) Delivery Music (something to get you pumped to push your little one out). My favorite moment is definitely when my nurse turned around and started dancing and rapping to Push It by Salt n Peppa. Ofcourse it was on my playlist!! After that, the rest of the delivery was all smiles and laughs!
So excited to be heading home… Let the journey begin!
After waiting 9 of the longest months of my life, my beautiful daughter has arrived. The feeling that I felt the first time I laid my eyes on her is indescribable. I am so excited to start this new journey. I have a new best friend and I want to document every moment!
Raising Ryleigh is simply documentation of my transition into motherhood. From things that make me laugh, to things that make me cry, I don’t want to forget a second. This is my journey…
